We can make a difference on these issues.

Right now our main issues include: getting medicaid expansion here in Pennsylvania, stopping all social security and medicare cuts at the federal level, and easing the massive debt of college students.

Koch prankster starts his congressional run. GGC could indirectly support him if we had any money...

This is the kind of campaign that the Greater Good Coalition could indirectly support if we had any money. We agree with him on all the issues although we won't commit on his "Pro Craigslist Transexual" position (makes sense if you know why the previous rep. quickly resigned).

Green party candidates can be successful if they have money. The GGC is a publicly funded 527. Here's how we could indirectly support his campaign (we can't endorse): 30000 people giving 10 or 300 people giving 1000 or one person giving 300000. That's all allowed under 527 rules. This would help progressive candidates, though, as opposed to the kind of people that the Koch brothers support. Read More

One of the first petitions against Corbett's drive to destroy both public and college education

This is one of the first petitions I've seen against Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett's extraordinary public school and college cuts. Some of those cuts disproportionally affect poorer schools by the way. Way to kick those poor kids when they're already down. Meanwhile, we're still waiting for an alternative democratic party budget that restores taxes to the rich. Waiting out here...

You can find the first petition here

Long piece about how we're not headed to a full employment economy.

A policy that doesn't stress full employment means a policy where everyone who wants a job won't be able to get a job. What this means in the US, which will feature a safety net less society oh so very soon, is, as we've mentioned before: the mexican narco state. You're not going to like living in a Mexican narco state.

Very disturbing news about Corbett's actions on the environment..

What Corbett is doing isn't that much different than what the other horrifying GOP governors are doing. Look, is it too much to ask to not be poisoned by the water I drink or the air I breathe? Is that too much? That would seem irrational.
